Day 27 > THURSDAY 19th NOVEMBER
Mum & I sharing a motel room in Charleston. A new experience for both of us, but the first night passed without incident, although around 6.00am she was chattering whilst dreaming, but it didn’t amount to anything & she woke & arose around 8.30am.
She was on good form & we took breakfast at a lovely little bistro right next door. We both ate like horses & then went out to explore again, criss-crossing the beautiful historic district with it’s colonial architecture. We visited a number of churches, enjoyed a cooling water in a rooftop bar along with refuelling with caffeine & a lovely snack too. We ended up walking seven miles today. Gulp.
If I’m really honest, it was me who had to call time at around 4.00pm as I was worn out! we headed back to the room & both had a brief siesta before heading out for dinner just after 6.00pm.
We went to a Brazilian steak house, where bizarrely Mum chose the salad bar along with salmon & shrimp, of which she immensely enjoyed two full plates. This lady ate virtually nothing three weeks ago. Nothing. I suspect the anti-depressants suppressed her appetite – combined with alcohol of course – & now we’re seeing what fuel Mum really needs . . .
We meandered back to the room, taking in the relatively quiet dark cityscape, & chatted for a while & watched a comedy sit-com on TV before she drifted off to sleep around 9.30pm. She slept soundly all night & didn’t dream. Not once. No Olanzapine required.
Oh my. What. A. Difference. She’s totally different here with me. Why?
