Friday 17th June

FRIDAY 17th JUNE . . .

Busy day with work on Friday & the Dewey Hotline remains silent all day until I return home around 3.30pm; where I find Bob ensconced with an own-brand Tesco cider glued to his throne in front of the TV, & Mum sitting on the sofa with him when I arrive.

Bob is surprised I appear via the back door, so I remind him I left him my front door key . . .

It’s over 30C outside & here they are in front of the TV in the sauna that passes for the lounge; Oh well, each to their own. Lia’s home too, so we both grab a cooling beverage (water 😇) & sit outside in the shaded garden – lovely. Mum joins us in a nanosecond, & we chew the fat for a while before Bob actually joins us – & we pass a lovely hour or so outside until Lia preps food & I BBQ, eating well & passing a generally enjoyable evening until we all call it a night at around 22:00. Nice. Bob did babble about the most blatantly banal subject matter, but we can live with that if Mum’s kept in the loop & involved.

Everyone slept soundly. Everyone.

No ‘Thunk’ tonight 🥰

Mum had at least one swig of Bob’s cider this evening, & duly lost reality briefly around an hour later, but on the whole was great, as simple conversation & involvement in life in general seems to give her purpose – her raison d’être – which I believe is what she’s been robbed of in recent times & central to her issues.

I wonder if we’re getting closer to finding the root?
